Ideal Weight

I did an online health assessment for my companies annual weight challenge. To the public it is called "special * challenge " (yes I work for that cereal company). I went through the questions on line and told me I was overweight, which was no big surprise. However, when they showed me my ideal weight range, I got a little irritated. My ideal weight at 5'9 with large frame is between 125-138 lbs. I can't imagine being that skinny.

So my question becomes who determines what a healthy weight is? Do they honestly think that these numbers are realistic? If I was to get down to 125 you would lose me if I turned sideways. So how do you determine your ideal number? Is it when you look into the mirror and look at yourself in those jeans you could not fit into last month or is it when you feel good about the 30 minute workout you just finished? Is when your doctor tells you all your numbers look good and you stop taking a medication or when you can stop using your Darth Vader CPAP machine? While all of these milestones are great and losing weight lengths your life and improves quality of life, we can love ourselves at any weight and not be So unforgiving of ourselves and whatever short comings we might have. Yes, I have my moments of weakness and breakdown and grab something that isn't good for me (weight watchers chocolate raspberry bars), however every day is a new day to live and new chance to learn to love ourselves.
