Yesterday I went to my new Primary Care doctor and was pleasantly surprised that she will approve me for surgery all she has to do is review my medical records. My last doctor had me taking stress test and multiple blood test and had me coming on once a month for over a year. I am also hearing good things about the surgeon that will be doing my surgery. It is nice to hear that he is held in such high regard, it puts me at ease.
I am a little concerned about taking medical leave for the six weeks, I do get to take short term disability so I am not worried about the paycheck. The thing that worries me is getting the intern Michelle ready for my leave. I don't want to leave the team short handed and the application that she is handling is a very visible one inside the company.
I found another food trigger for me. Anger. I have had some stuff at work happen including the promotion of a team mate which is not deserved and it triggered an eating episode. I did stop myself at my second helping of sushi and came to the realization that I was no longer or was I ever hungry, just upset with the lack of appreciation that is shown for all the long hours and hard work that I do. A co worker made a good point that they will not miss me until I am gone on leave. So I am thinking that this leave is a good thing not only for me to spend some serious time taking care of myself, but hopefully make the people at work see how much I truly do.
I need to use those six weeks to learn new ways to cope with the frustration and disappointment that I feeling at work. It will give me a chance to also concentrate on my college courses. Hopefully I will also find some time to spend with Dan and indulging in my hobbies such as video games and photography
